Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: •Patients in whom internal jugular vein is indicated •Patients aged 18yrs â?? 75 yrs of either sex. •Patients who had given informed written consent •ASA I, ASA â?? 1I and ASA - III

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: •Known Bleeding disorders •Altered coagulation profile (INR >2, platelet count •History of previous surgical intervention at the cannulation site •Presence of a central venous catheter during the past 72 h (in the same vein in which the present cannulation was planned) •Local site Infection or subcutaneous haematoma close to the puncture site. •Visible thrombus in internal jugular vein seen by ultrasound •Recent cervical trauma with neck immobilization •Critically ill and hemodynamically unstable patients
