Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Mothers whose infants are admitted to the NICU and who are unable to produce a milk volume of 150 ml per kg per day of the infantâ??s weight (birth weight or current weight whichever is greater) on or after post natal day 14, irrespective of the feeding status of the infant. 2. Mothers who satisfy the above criteria and who are likely to stay/ willing to stay for 10 days after enrolment in the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Mothers less than 18 years of age. 2. Sick mothers who are hemodynamically unstable till day 14/ have never expressed milk till day 14 3. Mothers with any breast/medical condition precluding production of adequate breastmilk like hypoplastic breasts, breast reduction surgery, Sheehans syndrome.
