Intervention1: Lignocaine Hydrochloride and Magnesium Sulphate VS Fentanyl: Group B 1. Intravenous lignocaine bolus before induction of anaesthesia followed by lignocaine infusion intraoperatively 2.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. ASA Grade I, II 2. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Inability to obtain informed consent. 1. Patients on chronic use of opioid or beta blockers. 2. Known case of severe mental impairment. 3. Known allergy to study medication. 4. Inability to comprehend pain assessment preoperatively. 5. History of alcohol, drug abuse. 6. Received opioid medication within 24 hours before operation. 7. Pregnant or breast-feeding females. 8. Patients with cardiac, hepatic and renal insufficiency. 9. Patients with difficult airway.

Primary outcome measure: Postoperative analgesic consumption till 24hrs/ discharge or patient need. Secondary outcome measure: 1. Intraoperative a. Haemodynamic stability 2. Postoperative: a. Pain scores at time points. b. Nausea and vomiting (PONV) c. Recovery time from general anaesthesia.Timepoint: Primary outcome measure: Postoperative analgesic consumption till 24hrs/ discharge or patient need. Secondary outcome measure: 1. Intraoperative a. In patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy under general anaesthesia, to compare following outcomes with use of fentanyl versus lignocaine and magnesium sulphate: 1. Intraoperative haemodynamics stability. 2. Incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting. 3. Recovery time from general anaesthesia. Timepoint: Intraoperative to postoperative till discharge
