Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients undergoing major abdominal surgeries. 2.Age >18 years of both genders. 3.ASA physical status:I,II,III 4.Both elective and emergency surgeries.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patient refusal. 2. BMI >35 3.ASA IV 4. Abdominal trauma with hemorrhagic shock 5.Sepsis,perforative peritonitis,septic y 6.Any absolute or relative contradications of spinal anaesthesia. 7.Allergic to local anesthetics and opioids.

MeasureTime frame
Rescue opioid analgesic requirement in the first 72 hours of post operative periodTimepoint: Base line (0 hour), 3 hr, 6 hr, 18 hr, 24hr, 48hr and 72 hr

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.Dose of spinal anesthesia required to achieve T4 level. 2.Perioperative pain scores-NRS 3.Conversion to GA 4.Hemodynamic stability. 5.Nausea,vomiting,pruritis 6.Patient satisfaction. 7.Surgeon satisfaction. 8.Gut motility:return of bowel function. 9.Length of hospital stay and in hospital mortality.Timepoint: Baseline at 0hrs,3 hrs,6hrs,12 hrs,18 hrs,24hrs,48hrs and 72 hrs
