Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients aged 18 -85 years old , with American Society of Anaesthesiologists Physical Status grades [ASA] 1-3 2. Scheduled for elective unilateral hip surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Known allergy or intolerance to any of the drugs used in the study 2. Hepatic or renal insufficiency 3. Opioid dependency 4. Coagulopathy 5. Pre-existing neurologic or anatomic deficits in the lower extremities �Severe psychiatric illness �Receiving general anaesthesia

MeasureTime frame
To compare the 36 hour post operative analgesic consumption between Continuous ultrasound guided Pericapsular Nerve Group (PENG) block, and the standard Continuous Suprainguinal Fascia iliaca block[SFIB] after hip surgeries.Timepoint: 36 hours post operative period

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Comparison of Static pain assessed by nVRS pain score at 3,6, 12,24 and 36 hours. 2. Comparison of Dynamic pain assessed by pain score at 12, 24 and 36 hours. 3. Comparison of quadriceps motor weakness in the two groups at 24 hrs and 36 hrs 4. Comparison of Patient satisfaction after the first 36 hrs.Timepoint: At 3,6,12,24,36 hrs for static pain score and at 12,24,36 hrs for dynamic pain score. Quadriceps motor weakness at 24 hrs and 36 hrs.
