Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients will be considered for study if they have blunt traumatic head injury admitted to neuro-trauma ICU during study period and brain computed tomography (CT) scan that demonstrated a hemorrhagic lesion.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients will be excluded if there was pre-hospital cardiac arrest, near-brain death clinical findings after resuscitation, patients with abnormal baseline mental status (dementia, mental retardation),those within 24 hours of general anaesthesia, those sedated and /or paralysed, those who are deaf and those unable to tolerate the forehead BIS sensors will be excluded

Primary

MeasureTime frame
A significant correlation is expected between GCS and BIS in TBI patients.Timepoint: BIS And GCS will recorded on admission and at every 6hrs for the first 24 hrs of inclusion in study.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To identify the range of BIS scores according to a patientâ??s level of consciousness and correlation in mild, moderate and severe head injury.Timepoint: BIS And GCS will recorded on admission and at every 6hrs for the first 24 hrs of inclusion in study.
