Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with more than 4 episodes of URTI in a year Age group between 4 and 18 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Acquired and congenital immuno deficiency Patients who are taking vitamin C tablet for the last one month. Craniofacial abnormality Nasal polyposis. Type 1 Diabetes mellitus Transplantation and post splenectomy patients. Mal absorption syndromes.

a. Serum vitamin C level in participant with recurrent upper respiratory tract infection. at the baseline b. Serum vitamin C in normal population Timepoint: At the baseline

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
a) The study gives an understanding of association of one of the preventive host factor, vitamin C with URTI. b) If patients with frequent URTI are found to have vitamin C deficiency, the frequency , duration and severity of infection can be reduced by supplementation of vitamin C c) The results of the study may be shared with the rest of the scientific community at conferences and also published in scientific journals Timepoint: 18 months
