Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Pregnant women of ASA grade II between the age of 18 to 40 years undergoing Elective caesarean section under Spinal Anaesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Parturients with complications like : 1)risk of excessive bleeding(placenta previa, prolonged labor, abnormal presentation, multiple gestation) 2)pre-existing or pregnancy induced hypertension, cardiovascular disease, severe anemia, diabetes, known fetal abnormalities 3)contraindications for spinal anaesthesia, 4)known allergy to phenylephrine 5)maternal systolic blood pressure 6)inability or refusal to give informed consent
