Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ââ??? 60 years to 75 years of age. ââ??? Diagnosed with Hypertension (classified as per 2017 AHA/ACC guidelines).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: ââ??? History of active medical illness e.g. diabetes mellitus, tuberculosis, chronic lung disease, symptomatic ischemic heart disease. ââ??? Recent (in last 30 days) MI, stroke. ââ??? Any vertebral deformities e.g. kyphosis, scoliosis. ââ??? History of major surgery in recent past. ââ??? Patients unable to understand instructions. ââ??? Patients with any diagnosed sleep disorder(OSAS, narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome) ââ??? Bedridden patients.

Primary

1. To determine the efficacy of pranayama and meditation in participants with hypertension & compare them with standard non pharmacological treatment for blood pressure reduction. Timepoint: 6 MONTHS

2. To determine the efficacy of pranayama and meditation for change in Anthropometry Parameter i.e. baseline anthropometric parameters - Body Mass Index (BMI), Waist Circumference (WC), Hip Circumference (HC), Waist to Hip Ratio (WHR). 3. To determine the efficacy of pranayama and meditation for change in Sleep Quality. 4. To determine the efficacy of pranayama and meditation in improvement of lipid profile Timepoint: 6 MONTHS
