Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with age >3 yrs. to 2. Medium size vessel injury (4-8 mm) includes 3. Axillary artery 4. Brachial artery 5. Femoral artery and 6. Popliteal artery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient with head injury 2. Contraindication of anticoagulation due to associated injuries / co-morbidities including CAD, Ischemic heart disease, Stroke, coagulopathies etc. 3. Pregnant females ( confirmed by UPT ) 4. Patient already on anticoagulation 5. Venous/ prosthetic graft repair

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the effect of post-operative systemic anticoagulation in terms of patency of medium size peripheral arterial repair in a vascular trauma.Timepoint: 2nd and 5th post operative day

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To assess complication like 1. Post operative Bleeding 2. Re-exploration 3. Blood products required 4. Limb loss 5. Length of hospital stay, associated with the use of post-operative systemic anticoagulation in medium size arterial repair. Timepoint: WITH IN 5 POST OPERATIVE DAY
