Intervention1: Continuous Spinal Anaesthesia (CSA): CSA will be performed at L3-L4 intervertebral space in sitting position using 19G Tuohys pediatric epidural needle, 22G catheter and 0.5% hyperbaric

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA Grade I & II Height 140-170 cm Weight 30-90 kg Patients who will undergo lower limb orthopaedic surgeries

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal Major cardio-respiratory, neurological and psychiatric disorders Hepatic and renal disorders Patients with a history of allergic reaction to local anaesthetics Presence of any contraindication to neuraxial anaesthesia

Grade of sensory & motor blockadeTimepoint: Immediately after the block and every minute till peak effect is achieved

1.Time to achieve sensory block up to T10 2.Duration of sensory blockade 3.Duration of analgesia 4.Frequency and total dose of local anaesthetic used 5.Haemodynamic variables 6.Performance time 7.Incidence of complications - severe hypotension/bradycardia/PDPH/rigors/nausea/vomiting/delayed micturition/meningitis/focal sensory blockTimepoint: 1.Local infiltration(P1) 2.Catheter fixation(P2) 3.First dose of local anaesthetic(P3) 4.Time at which T10 is achieved(P4) 5.Time at 2-segment regression(P5) 6.Time of subsequent doses(P6) 7.Time of first rescue analgesia(P7) 8.Haemodynamic variables every 5 min up to 30 min,then every 15 min till the completion of surgery and hourly till first 6 hours in the post-operative period.
