Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 18-75 year old male and female patients with sepsis (defined as rise in SOFA score of >2 with presumed or proven infection) admitted to the Intensive care unit (ICU) or developed sepsis after admission to the ICU
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with advanced malignancy 2. Immunocompromised patients, transplant recipients, patients on immunosuppressants, chemotherapy or radiation therapy 3. Patients with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD stage 3 or above) and advanced Chronic liver disease (Child-Turcotte-Pugh class B or C) or known heart disease with left ventricular ejection fraction less than 30 percent before admission
