Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 .Age > 18 years 2 Patient requiring NIV for management of ARDS during covid 19 infection. ARDS defined by Berlin criteria.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Impending cardiopulmonary arrest. 2.GCS 3.Absence of airway protective gag reflex. 4.Elevated intracranial pressure. 5.Tracheostomized patient. 6.upper airway obstruction. 7.Pregnancy. 8.Denied consent.
