Health Condition 1: J339- Nasal polyp, unspecified

Interventions

Intervention1: Budesonide (0.5mg/2ml): Dose : (0.5mg/2ml) in 200ml saline as topical nasal irrigation (100ml each side of nose)
Cumulative dose : 1mg/day
Frequency : twice a day
Duration : 3 months
Route : Intra-nasal - topical irrigation. Control Intervention1: Normal saline (0.9%): Dose : 200ml (100ml each side of nasal cavity)
Frequency : twice daily
Route : Intra-nasal - topical irrigation.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: >18years of age Those who undergo Endoscopic sinus surgery during the study period

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who are on concomitant use of oral steroids Patients having known hypersensitivity to corticosteroids Patients who had undergone CSF leak closure Allergic fungal sinusitis

MeasureTime frame
Efficacy of the two arms compared by : SNOT 22 score Lund â?? Kennedy Endoscopic score SNOT 22 score â?? questionnaire filled in the presence of PI at each visit LKES score â?? calculated by two endoscopists . One â?? endoscopist in duty at scopy room on that day. Second â?? By Guide or co-investigator. Both scores are then averaged to arrive at the final score. Timepoint: 2 weeks and 3 months post op
