Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients who are scheduled to undergo elective PCNL under general anaesthesia 2. Age group of 18 to 65 years inclusive of both sexes. 3. ASA grade 1-2.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: •Patients who are scheduled to undergo PCNL with an anaesthesia techniquwe other than GA. •Patients posted for emergency surgical procedures •Patients below 18 years and those above the age of 65 years. •Unwilling patients. •LA allergy •BMI >35 •Skin infection at injection site •Patients with previous spinal surgery •History of coagulopathy or anticoagulant therapy •Psychiatric disorders

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Postoperative pain will be evaluated using VAS. Timepoint: VAS pain scores at 20th and 40th min as well as at 1st, 3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th, 18th and 24th hour both at rest and when coughing will be recorded.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Postoperative opioid requirement for the first 24hours will be recorded in both the groups.Timepoint: FIRST 24 HOURS
