Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Diagnosis of Schizophrenia as per Diagnostic statistical Manual 5 (DSM 5) based on structured assessment tool SCID-5. 2.18 -60 year old 3.Either gender 4.Attending outpatient services of department of psychiatry, PSG IMS & R 5.Literate in Tamil (local language) or English

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Uncorrected auditory or visual impairment 2.Intellectual disability as evidenced by careful clinical evaluation of intelligence or by clinical records, 3.Past history of traumatic brain injury with a sustained loss of consciousness and presence or history of any neurologic illness like epilepsy or dementia 4.Lack of proficiency in Tamil or English 5.Substance dependence in the last 1 year except Nicotine dependence 6.Refusal of consent

To find any statistically significant difference among cognitive remediation group and time matched control activity group on mean difference in pre-post assessment scores (16 weeks assessment to baseline assessment) of MATRICS neurocognitive composite score, SOCRATIS social cognition total scores, PANSS Symptomatology scores and functioning scores ( GSDS II, GAF and WHODAS 2.0).Timepoint: Baseline and 16th week
