Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who are 18 years to 80 years old, visiting Dept. of Surgery & Dept. of Medicine for the management of infected diabetic foot ulcer

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Incomplete case records, Patients who missed a follow-up

Improved VDR and CAMP gene expression status (Increased) Improved VDR protein & LL-37 (Cathelicidin) status: (normal or high) Improved serum vitamin D status (Sufficient, Insufficient and Deficient) Timepoint: Time points Two time points: At baseline and after 4 months Vitamin D receptor gene and human Cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide(CAMP) gene expression in infected diabetic foot ulcer patients will be checked using real time PCR (RT-PCR) Peptide (VDR protein & Cathelicidin) as well as vitamin D levels will be estimated using ELISA technique Wound healing will be assessed by measuring the wound linearly and the wound area will be calculated by multiplying the two diameters obtained
