Health Condition 1: K053- Chronic periodontitis Health Condition 2: E119- Type 2 diabetes mellitus without complications

Interventions

Intervention1: 2 % Curcumin gel: Local drug delivery, 0.5 -1ml of 2 % curcumin gel which will be deposited into the sulcus ( periodontal pocket) with the help of a 2ml blunt syringe on day 1, on 1oth

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients willing to participate in the study 2.Subjects with Age group of 30 to 60years. 3.Patients with chronic localized periodontitis. 4.Patients should have pockets measuring less than 5mm (4-5mm) 5.Patients with type 2 diabetic mellitus 6.Patients who are able to follow verbal or written instructions.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with systemic disorders (Myocardial infarction, musculoskeletal diseases and trauma ) 2. Patients with Hba1c levels >7% 3.Patients under antibiotics, anticoagulants, steroids, hormonal therapy and also patient who underwent periodontal treatment in past 6 months 4.Pregnant patients and lactating mothers. 5.Patients with habit of tobacco chewing, smoking, alcohol consumption 6.Patients with severe chronic periodontitis and Aggressive periodontitis 7.Patients with acute intraoral lesions
