Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients posted for Elective AVM embolization or resection surgery,AVMs in Supratentorial location,GCS of 15,ASA (American society of anaesthesiologists) status I and II patients.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)Patient refusal. 2)Age less than 18 years and more than 60 years. 3)Patients with GCS 4)Patients presenting for emergency surgery, 5)Patients with recurrent disease, 6)Patients with posterior circulation AVM, 7)ASA (American Society of Anaesthesiologists) status III ,IV,V patients, Pregnant & nursing mothers.

MeasureTime frame
To study the correlation between intraprocedural changes in regional cerebral oxygen saturation(rSO2) and postoperative neurological complications such as cerebral ischemia, cerebral edema, haemorrhage and seizures.Timepoint: 1.N1- Baseline NIRS reading will be taken prior to anaesthesia induction 2. N2- 10 minutes after induction. 3.N3- After arterial occlusion/ligation 4.N4-Post venous occlusion/ligation 5.N5-Post resection/embolisation of AVM 6.N6-Prior to extubation 7.24 hours Postoperative period(hourly)

To study the systemic and local factors affecting the changes in NIRS such as peripheral oxygen saturation and hemodynamic parameters.Timepoint: 1.N1- Baseline NIRS reading will be taken prior to anaesthesia induction 2.N2- 10 minutes after induction. 3.N3- After arterial occlusion/ligation 4.N4-Post venous occlusion/ligation 5.N5-Post resection/embolisation of AVM 6.N6-Prior to extubation 7.24 hours Postoperative period(hourly)
