Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a) Women at risk of preterm delivery between 26 weeks to 33 weeks 6 days. b) 1st sample of multiple gestation to avoid over representing of cases. c) PPROM ( Preterm pre labour rupture of membranes ) d) Women at risk for preterm and having preeclampsia and will be receiving neuroprophylaxis regimen.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a) Women who could not receive neuroprophylaxis and had delivery due to other obstetrics causes. b) If women with risk for preterm are also having eclampsia and they have received a different regimen.

MeasureTime frame
To find out the optimum level of magnesium concentration in cord blood with relation to timing of administration of magnesium sulphate in anticipated preterm deliveries for achieving neuroprotection.Timepoint: within 6 hrs of umbilical cord blood collection

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
a) To assess the cord blood magnesium concentration in relation to the timing of MgSO4 and delivery. b) To correlate the duration of MgSO4 administration before anticipated preterm delivery with cord blood magnesium level and perinatal outcome. c) To achieve ROC in relation to optimum level of cord blood magnesium concentration in relation to neonatal outcome variables.Timepoint: a) Within 6hrs of collection of cord blood b) Hours of administration of MgSO4
