Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion Criteria 1. Spouses of persons diagnosed with Substance Use Disorder, Bipolar Affective Disorder or Schizophrenia attending the inpatient or outpatient departments of LGBRIMH. 2. Educated up to primary level 3.Husband/wife aged between 20-45 years 4.Duration of marriage >= 2 years 5.Residing with spouse 6. Patient- symptomatic/asymptomatic, duration of illness >=2 years, age-18-55 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion Criteria 1. Major Physical illness and Mental disorder (Self-declared) 2. Cannot read and write English and Assamese 3. Patients with co morbidity of other mental/major physical illness 4.person with more than one spouse

MeasureTime frame
To understand the correlates of Codependency Results from this study can be incorporated in the psychosocial intervention for codependent spouses Timepoint: 12 months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
This study will contribute to understanding the association between Codependency and marital quality, burden, social support and resilience of spouses of persons with psychiatric disorders. This understanding can contribute to developing interventions to address codependency issues in chronic and major psychiatric disorders. This can also become the basis for future studies involving other family caregivers and codependencyTimepoint: 12 months
