Intervention1: Administering carbohydrate as pre-loading for diabetic patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy.: 32 diabetic patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy will be given 50 g

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. ASA grade II 2. Patients giving informed and written consent 3. Diabetic patients with good glycemic control on oral hypoglycemic agents 4. BMI between 18 and 35 kg/m2

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. ASA grade 3 or 4 2. Diabetic patient with any complication of diabetes 3. Diabetic patient controlled on insulin 4. Pregnant patient 5. Patient with gastroesophageal reflux disease, hiatus hernia or any other condition with increase risk of aspiration 6. Patient on steroids and chronic opioid use 7. Any major complication during surgery or surgery exceeding 4 hours

To measure the effect of carbohydrate loading on gastric emptying, gastric acidity, post-operative nausea, vomiting and patient comfort in diabetic patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy.Timepoint: 1.5 years
