Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. A definite history of snake bite. 2. Clinical picture consistent with that of a hematotoxic snake bite. 3. Age 18-65 years. 4. Stage 2 acute kidney injury according to KDIGO classification. 5. Informed consent provided by the patient or relatives.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with Stage 3 acute kidney injury at presentation. 2. Patients with evidence of pre-existing renal disease. 3. Need for emergency hemodialysis even before randomization. 4. Patient received hemodialysis in outside hospital.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary objectives are: a) Survival at the end of 30 days. b) To see whether there is progression to chronic kidney disease.Timepoint: 30 days, 90 days.

Secondary

Secondary objectives are: a) Requirement of renal replacement therapy at 90 days. b) Survival at 90 days.Timepoint: 90 days
