Intervention1: oral tranexamic acid with nd YAG laser: In Group B patients along with Tab Tranexamic acid 250mg twice daily for 3 months, Nd-YAG Laser will be used simultaneously. Control Intervention

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All the patients with melasma of age 18years to 50years attending SKIN & VD OPD in between the study period

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with history of coagulopathies, cardiac diseases and severe systemic disorders. 2.Use of oral anticoagulant drugs or any other photosensitizing drugs such as NSAID, tetracycline, spironolactone, phenytoin, carbamazepine in last 1 month. 3.Known allergy to Tranexamic acid. 4.Use of other depigmenting oral or topical agents in the past 1 month. 5.Females with a history of pregnancy/lactation in last 12 months. 6.Use of oral contraceptive pills/hormonal replacement therapy in the past 12 months. 7.Patients with unusually high expectations.

MeasureTime frame
The combination of Oral Tranexamic acid and Qs Nd-YAG laser is expected to be better with minimum 60% decrease in MASI score where as only Oral Tranexamic acid is expected to have a reduction in MASI by 40-45%. Timepoint: the patients will be evaluated after 6months of the beginning of treatment to see for the change in masi scores.

MeasureTime frame
To see the efficacy of Oral Tranexamic acid in Melasma. To see the efficacy of Oral Tranexamic acid and Q Switched Nd-YAG laser in Melasma. To see if Oral Tranexamic acid decreases the side effects of Q Switched Nd-YAG lasers in comparison to other studies. To compare the efficacy of oral Tranexamic acid with Q switched Nd YAG laser against Oral Tranexamic acid alone in cases of Melasma. Timepoint: patients will be evaluated at monthly interval , and before and after each laser session to see for improvement and side effects.
