Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: singleton pregnancy ASA grade 2 height 150- 170 cm body mass index

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: patient having contraindication to spinal anesthesia i.e. patient refusal, allergy to local anesthesia, bleeding disorders, spinal deformity, severe congenital or acquired heart disease, hemorrhage or hypovolemic shock( each condition ruled out via good history, clinical examination and investigations) known sensitivity to study drug Gestational age 41weeks

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To predict the number of parturients developing decrease in systolic blood pressure less than 20% of the baseline value.Timepoint: starting from 2minutes after giving spinal anaesthsia to 60 minutes or end of the surgery whichever earliest

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The total amount and the frequency of doses of ephedrine 6mg administered intravenously to prevent intraoperative hypotension. APGAR of the neonate at 1st and 5th minute.Timepoint: starting from 2minutes after giving spinal anaesthsia to 60 minutes or end of the surgery whichever earliest
