Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: American society of Anaesthesiologists grade I and II undergoing elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Pre-existing cardiorespiratory, kidney or neuromuscular disease. Contraindication to PEEP initiation like increased intracranial pressure or hypotension. Obesity (BMI > 30kg/m2). Pregnant and breastfeeding females. Previous chest or open abdominal surgery. Refusal for consent.
