Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria - case We will recruit consecutive subjects visiting Department of Medicine, TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi for routine check-up. People of both genders with age 45-55 years and are newly diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and are drug naïve are considered under this group. Fasting glucose more than 125mg/dL and post-prandial glucose of more than 200 mg/dL are considered type 2 diabetic as per ICMR guidelines. Inclusion criteria - control Age and gender matched individuals who will be visiting Department of Medicine, TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi and having levels of fasting glucose in the range of 80-110 mg/dL and post-prandial glucose in the range of 120-140 mg/dL are considered to be non-diabetic according to ICMR guidelines.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria for case & control Exclusion criteria includes subjects with hypertension, autoimmune diseases, infections or any other serious illness.

MeasureTime frame
Knowledge of the molecular mechanisms underlying epigenetic changes in vasculature controlled by glucose and its modifications in diabetes may allow the design of novel therapeutic strategies to reduce the burden of vascular complications. Furthermore, altered exosome proteome signatures due to influence of epigenetic changes in vasculature detected early during the onset of diabetes in newly diagnosed subjects may prove useful as markers for vascular disease risk prediction.Timepoint: 3 Years
