Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patient’s age > 18 years and < 65 years with mild to moderate head injury as defined by a Glasgow come scale of 9-14 with radiological diagnosis of diffuse axonal injury.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patient refusal 2.Liver or renal disease 3.Glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency 4.Previous CNS pathology ( eg stroke ,head injury or previous craniotomy) 5.Space occupying lesions and those with pre-resuscitation shock and hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy

No of ventilator free days and length of icu stayTimepoint: From 1st day of extubation or decannulation to shifting the patient to ward and total number of days the patient stayed in icu including the treatment

MeasureTime frame
Effect on mortality and infection reduction in traumatic brain injury patientsTimepoint: Depending on the length of icu stay and vitamin c iv duration
