Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Cases 1. Male or female right handed individuals 18-50 years of age 2. Individuals meeting the DSM 5 criteria for schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorders (clinical assessment) 3. Individuals currently free from antipsychotic medications within the past week 4. Ability to read Hindi or English language 5. Patients or primary caregiver with capacity and willingness to give informed consent Controls 1. Age and gender matched right handed individuals 2. Individuals without history of any psychiatric disorders in themselves and in their first-degree relatives (participantâ??s report & clinical assessment) 3. Ability to read Hindi or English language 4. Individuals with capacity and willingness to give informed consent
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Cases 1. Known or suspected pregnancy 2. History suggestive of any neurological disorder as reported or assessed clinically 3. Individuals with history of ophthalmological disorder or unable to read and comprehend the on-screen instructions 4. Individuals currently on drugs known to interfere with eye movement measurements (within previous week) Lithium carbonate/citrate, Mood stabilizers, Stimulants, Anti-cholinergics, Benzodiazepines or Antidepressants 5. History of any psychiatric disorder including substance abuse/dependence (except caffeine or nicotine) other than psychosis (as mentioned in inclusion criteria) Controls 1. Known or suspected pregnancy 2. History suggestive of any neurological disorder as reported or assessed clinically 1. Individuals with history of ophthalmological disorder or unable to read and comprehend the on-screen instructions 2. Individuals currently on drugs known to interfere with eye movement measurements (within previous week) Lithium carbonate/citrate, Mood stabilizers, Stimulants, Anti-cholinergics, Benzodiazepines or Antidepressants

Cases would be given medication â??as prescribed by the treating physicianâ?? and a record of it would be made.
