Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a. Age 18 years or greater b. Patients admitted in ICU and requiring oxygen therapy for more than 24 hours

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a. Patients requiring oxygen therapy for less than 24 hours. b. Patients not having arterial blood gas data c. Patient considered at risk for imminent death by the treating intensivist. d. Patient requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.

(A). To assess duration of excess oxygen therapy (B). To assess impact of hyperoxemia on early ICU mortality (C). To assess duration of time spent in each FiO2, SpO2 and PaO2. (D). To assess factors affecting oxygen administration practice in cases of hyperoxemia in terms of (i) Day time hours (0600-1800hrs) against afterhours (1800-0600 hrs.) (ii) Adjustments to fractioned inspired oxygen supplementation when hyperoxemia occurred at lower FiO2. Timepoint: within 7 days of admission
