Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients between ages of 18 to 60 years who are scheduled for maxillofacial surgeries requiring submental intubation are enrolled in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)severe neurological damage 2)history suggestive of coagulopathy 3)polytrauma 4)anticipated prolonged ventilatory support 5)multiple surgeries required 6)psychiatric illness 7)inability to cooperate or understand the study protocol 8)refusal to give consent
