Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Completely edentulous with period of edentulism at least 2-4 yrs 2. Consented to be rehabilitated with removable prosthesis 3. Above 65 years of male and female 4. Education above high school and socio-economic status of middle lower class 5. Right handed 6. Physical activity (light level)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. History of any modifiable risk factor such as hypertension, diabetes etc 2. History of temporomandibular disorders or neurological or psychiatric diseases 3. History of systemic and metabolic diseases 4. Not able to provide history and consent 5. Participants taking drugs which may influence any outcome

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Assessment of an impact of partial and complete edentulism on cognitive function with neuropsychological tests, volume and composition of brain tissue in the hippocampus of the participants.Timepoint: First follow up will be done in 3 months and second follow up will be done at 12 months.

Secondary

Assessment of impact of rehabilitation of completely edentulous condition on cognitive impairment with neuropsychological tests, volume and composition of brain tissue in the hippocampus of the participants.Timepoint: First follow up will be done in 3 months and second follow up will be done at 12 months.
