Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Closed and unilateral femoral shaft fractures

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Initial shortening of more than 2 cm 2. Significant swelling of the thigh and risk of compartment syndrome 3. Other lower limb fractures ââ?¬â?? ipsilateral/contralateral 4. Pelvic and abdominal injuries 5. Polytrauma 6. Neurovascular deficit 7. Metabolic bone disease

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the reliability of radiographic projections for reduction assessment in paediatric femoral shaft fractures treated with closed reduction and hip spica application.Timepoint: at 2 weeks. 6 weeks and 12 weeks post Spica application.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1)To assess torsional profile intraoperatively and post-spica removal. 2)To determine if there is a relationship between initial shortening and residual overlap. 3)To assess angulation in coronal and sagittal planes by serial radiographs. 4)To study the occurrence of complications, if anyTimepoint: at 2 weeks, 6 weeks and 12 weeks post Spica application
