Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a) Children who are diagnosed as minimal to moderate ASD age range of 4-8 years b) Children with ASD should have receptive and expressive language age of more than two years. c) Children with ASD who are identified to have average and borderline intelligence. d) Children with ASD who use English for communication and be able to involve in preschool activities e) Parents of Children with ASD with minimum proficiency in English. f) Parents who can communicate in English to their Children with ASD.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a) Children with ASD who have co-morbid conditions such as psychiatric disorder, genetic or chromosomal disorder, neurological conditions, such as fragile X syndrome or epilepsy, which are strongly associated with autism. b) Children with ASD who are not able to participate in preschool literacy activities. c) Children with ASD who have poor cognitive skills measured on Seguin form board.

1) Listening comprehension 2) Vocabulary 3) Phonological awarenessTimepoint: 1)Baseline assessment of 9 sessions for 3 story books 2) Intervention sessions: approximately 10 sessions for a story book. 3) Criteria for proceeding from one book to another: 70% correct response 3) Maintenance phase : After 1 week after 1 week of intervention on trained stimulus 4) Generalization phase : after 6 weeks on untrained stimulus
