Control Intervention1: Addition of dexmeditomidine to 0.75% ropivacaine: Group RN receives 0.75% ropivacaine and normal saline Group RD receives 0.75% ropivacaine and dexmeditomidine

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age group 20-60yr ASA 1& 2 Patients undergoing upper limb orthopedic surgeries

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with hypersensitivity to local anesthetic Patient refusal Patients with uncontrolled DM, liver disease & renal disease Pregnant and lactating women

Duration of analgesia Onset of sensory & motor block Duration of sensory & motor blockTimepoint: 1,3,6,9,15,30,45,60,90 and 120 minutes and then hourly until recovery is noted
