A comparative study using intravenous anaesthetic given by two techniques in brain tumour surgery.

A prospective ,randomised, double-blind study comparing intraoperative hemodynamics and the amount of Propofol used in BIS(Bispectral Index Score) guided TCI(Target Controlled Infusion)- TIVA( Total Intravenous Anaesthesia) using Propofol and conventional manual TIVA of Propofol in patients undergoing supratentorial tumour surgery

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Intra-operative hemodynamic stability in both groups and amount of drug required in ml/kg/hr.Timepoint: Every 5 minutes till 30 minutes from the induction ,then every 30 minutes for entire duration of surgery and then every five minutes for 30 minutes after extubation.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Comparison of early recovery profile of patients in either groups.Timepoint: Every 2.5 minutes from reversal till 15 minutes ,then at 5, 10, 30, 60 minutes
