Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Periodontally healthy permanent teeth with carious exposure of pulp were included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: negative response to vitality tests, or had a positive history of antibiotic use in the past 1 month or required antibiotic prophylaxis, had taken analgesics in the past 3 days, or if the tooth was previously accessed
