Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: American society of Anesthesiologist physical status 1 and 2 Scheduled for surgeries of the shoulder and arm
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal Preexisting diaphragmatic dysfunction Moderate to severe pulmonary disease Preexisting neurological deficits in upper limb Allergy to the drugs used in the study Inability to obtain proper view of the diaphragm

| The primary outcome measure is diaphragmatic excursion. The excursion is measured in centimeters (cm). Normal excursion for males is about 5-7cm and for females is about 4-6cm. The percentage reduction in excursion from pre block will be noted.Timepoint: Preblock and 30 minutes post block assessment of diaphragmatic excursion. | — |
