Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Definite retinal thickening resulting from diabetic macular edema on clinical examination involving centre of macula. Diabetic macular edema confirmed via retinal thickness measured on optical coherence tomography.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Vitreous haemorrhage. History of any intraocular surgery/ photocoagulation within previous 3 months. History of periocular or intraocular drug injection. Any corneal opacity or cataract which affects pre operative OCT evaluation. Previous history of glaucoma treatment. Any other ocular comorbidities that has influence on macular thickness. Age less than 20 years
