Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Group 1: Geriatric with depression Inclusion Criteria 1. Age 60 years and above of any sex. 2. Meets the frailty criteria. 3. Already diagnosed case of depression in OPD as per DSM-5 criteria, by a psychiatrist. 4. Informed written consent. 5. Patient having first episode of depression. Group 2: Non-geriatric with depression Inclusion Criteria 1. Age 35-50 years of any sex. 2. Meets the frailty criteria. 3. Already diagnosed case of depression in OPD as per DSM-5 criteria, by a psychiatrist. 4. Informed written consent. 5. Patient having first episode of depression.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Group 1: Geriatric with depression Exclusion Criteria 1. Unstable physical illness and/or physical condition requiring hospitalization. 2. Other co-morbid or unstable psychiatric illness, highly suicidal, or depression due to organic brain disease. 3. History of substance use disorders (except nicotine). 4. Patient undergoing any treatment/intervention for an illness. Group 2: Non-geriatric with depression Exclusion Criteria 1. Unstable physical illness and/or physical condition requiring hospitalization. 2. Other co-morbid or unstable psychiatric illness, highly suicidal, or depression due to organic brain disease. 3. History of substance use disorders (except nicotine). 4. Pregnant and lactating women. 5. Patient undergoing any treatment/intervention.
