Intervention1: Local drug delivery: Local drug delivery and its effect on periostin levels in GCF after scaling and root planing.2ml of curcumin gel will be given twice, once at baseline post scaling

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients of age group 30-50 years Patients with more than or equal to 20 teeth Patient with a pocket depth of 4-6 mm Generalized chronic periodontitis(more than equal to 30% sites) patients exhibiting mild clinical attachment loss of 1-2mm Patients who consented to participate in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: History of oral prophylaxis in past 3 months Patient taking antibiotics and antioxidants in last 3 months Patients with systemic diseases Pregnant and lactating mothers Patients using any form of tobacco
