Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Adult Patients in the above age group with diagonsis of Acute exacerbation of COPD as per GOLD guidelines
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.patient refusal 2.need for endotracheal intubation on admission to protect the airways and to mange respiratory secreations 3.inability to protect the airways -unconscious patients,patients with cva,confused and agitated patients 4.inability to fit the niv mask due to skeletal deformity
