Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • All geriatric patients clinically diagnosed with osteoarthritis of knee for atleast 6 months, by Orthopaedician substantiated by radiograph grade 2 and 3. • Patient willing to give written and informed consent. • Fit to do the exercises as determined by the PAR-Q and fitness certificate obtained. • ENROLLMENT PROTOCOL: • The patients fulfilling clinical criteria listed by the American College of Rheumatology:knee pain and any three out of six: age > 50 years, morning stiffness lasting • NPRS – 3 to 7 • Patients with bilateral involvement of knee.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Self-reportedcomorbidities including uncontrolled hypertension, unstable heart condition or comorbidities with overlapping symptoms i.e. rheumatoid arthritis. • Patients involved in any form of physical exercise for lower extremity for at least 2 months. • Instability indicated by chronic use of a cane, walker or wheelchair. • Reported symptoms of joint locking to a degree that affects individuals balance and makes participating in group exercise program unsafe. • Patients taking an intra-articular injection for knee since last 3 months of study entry. • Patients with history of recent surgery to hip, knee, ankle joint within last 2 years.
