Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children in the age group of 7-14 years of either sex presenting to the Paediatrics department with diagnosis of asthma based on GINA definition.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Critically ill or sick children. 2. Suspected or known immunodeficiency diseases. 3. Cardiac and neurological comorbidities. 4. Chronic pulmonary disease affecting pulmonary function. 5. Children who are not able to perform peak expiratory flow test optimally. 6. Children receiving probiotic for more than 1 month prior to study.

1. Peak Expiratory Flow Rate (PEFR) (Liter/min) 2. Paediatric Asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire (PAQLQ)Timepoint: PEFR and PAQLQ score will be measured at the initiation of therapy (0 month), after 1 month and 3 months.
