Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Term live singleton pregnancy in active labor who will be having contractions atleast once in 5 min with cervical dilation 0-4 cm with a request for ambulatory labor analgesia will be included in the study .

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal for the procedure. Local infection at site of epidural catheter placement. Thrombocytopenia. Coagulopathies. HELLP syndrome. Sepsis. Deafness. Spinal column deformities and spine surgery. Patient having hypersensitivity to study drug. In case of intrathecal catheter placement. In case of accidental dural puncture. Non assuring fetal heart rate. Prematurity and postmaturity.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To study the labor pain score and anxiety level in parturients.Timepoint: 10-12 hrs

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To study the hemodynamic variants like blood pressure,heart rate, respiratory rate,oxygen saturation through out the labor. To study patients satisfaction. To study obstetrician satisfaction. To study the mode of delivery in parturients. To study any maternal complications. To study APGAR score at1 and 5 mins to see fetal outcome. To study any complication related to epidural labor analgesia such as hypotension,bradycardia,nause,vomiting,pruritis etc.Timepoint: 10-12 hrs
