Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Aged between 1 year and 5 years Weighing between 5 kg and 25 kg ASA-PS class I and II Elective genitourinary, lower abdominal, orthopaedic, surgeries in supine position under general anaesthesia,

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Any patient undergoing emergency surgery with prior history of abnormal anatomy of the larynx or pharynx patients with increased risk of aspiration (Tracheoesophageal fistula, Oesophageal atresia)

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1. To determine the difference in Oropharyngeal leak pressure (OLP) between I-gel and Blockbuster LMA in anaesthetized paediatric patientsTimepoint: till end of surgery

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.To determine the difference in LMA insertion parameters between I-gel and Blockbuster LMA (ease of insertion, insertion time, number of attempts , airway quality) 2.To determine any difference in hemodynamic changes during LMA insertion between the two groups. 3.To determine the incidence and comparison of postoperative complications if any. Timepoint: 24 hours
