Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: (1) Adult patients (age >= 18 years), (2) Undergoing non-cardiac surgery, (3) Admitted to the surgical intensive care unit (SICU), and high dependency units (HDU). (4) At a high risk of postoperative AKI. High-risk patients referred to as patients having at least one of the following conditions: (a) Preoperative comorbidities, including i. Hypertension (HTN), ii. Diabetes mellitus (DM), iii. Coronary heart disease, iv. Congestive heart failure (CHF), v. Cerebrovascular disease, vi. Chronic kidney disease not required dialysis, vii. Lung disease, or liver disease; (b) Major surgery, defined as surgery duration >=2h; (c) Ongoing organ dysfunction, defined as the sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) score >= 2 from one single organ system.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria: Patients with any of the following criteria will be excluded: (1) Chronic kidney disease stage 5 or requiring long-term dialysis; (2) Surgery involving kidney, such as nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, nephroureterectomy, or kidney transplantation; (3) AKI events before surgery (4) Patient Refusal; and (5) Cardiac Surgery patients
