Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients who gave informed consent for participation in the study 2. Patients with age >= 16 years 3. Patients who had a past history of acute pancreatitis
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. A patient who has suffered recurrent episodes of AP. 2. Patients with chronic pancreatitis. 3. Patient with diagnosed diabetes mellitus before acute pancreatitis episode 4. Patients suffering from chronic diarrhea before AP 5. Patient with intestinal tuberculosis or Crohnâ??s disease 6. Patients who died during hospitalization

To assess the short term (at 6 months) persistent of exocrine and endocrine pancreatic insufficiency after discharge.
