Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: American Society of Anaesthesiology(ASA) physical status 1 patients in the age group of 18 to 60 years of either gender undergoing Functional endoscopic sinus surgery(FESS) and Septoplasty under general anaesthesia with endotracheal tube and throat packs are included in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with pre-existing throat discomfort and hoarseness of voice, surgeries lasting more than 2 hours, patients with unanticipated difficult airway, patients with unanticipated difficult larygoscopy and intubation and patients with more than one attempt at intubation and traumatic intubation are excluded from the study
