Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Preterm neonates less than 29 weeks 6days

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Suspected twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome or discordant twin 2.Major congenital and chromosomal anomalies 3.Hydrops fetalis 4.Rh isoimmunization (Mother ICT Positive) 5.True umbilical cord knots

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1. Hematocrit & hemoglobin levels at 4-24 hours after birth 2.Survival without composite adverse event until discharge, which includes a.Mortality before discharge from the hospital b.Intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) of any grades c.Stage II or III necrotizing enterocolitis d.Hypotension in the first 48 hours of birth requiring inotrope supportTimepoint: 4-24 hours after birth, 4 weeks and 6 weeks

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.Admission temperature/ temperature in delivery room 2.Need for transfusion of packed red blood cells before discharge 3.Peak serum bilirubin level any time during hospital stay 4.Hyperbilirubinemia requiring phototherapy 5.Polycythemia 6.Hypotension in the first 24 hours of birth requiring volume or inotrope support 7.Oxygen dependency at 28 days and 36 weeks of corrected GA 8.Late-onset sepsis 9.Retinopathy of prematurity 10.Patent ductus arteriosus 11.Duration of hospital stay Timepoint: 120 days 160 days
